Khamzat Chimaev has been calling out UFC fighters like never before. His spectacular win against Li Jingliang at UFC 267 and an undisputed record of 10-0-0 give him the credibility to do so.

His background in wrestling heavily contributes to his success in mixed martial arts. Thus, MMA is not his only sport. Chimaev takes part in wrestling matches, too.

‘Borz’ and Hermansson’s bout will be the main event and their respective fans are, of course, excited to see this match. However, there is something else about the weigh-in that totally shocked fans.

Should Khamzat Chimaev move to the middleweight division?

After watching the weigh-in video, many fans were of the opinion that Chimaev should be fighting in the UFC’s middleweight division and not the welterweight. This is because the Russian-born fighter looked much bigger than Hermansson.

Hermansson is a middleweight fighter at UFC. The fact that Chimaev looked much bigger than ‘The Joker’ confused people. It is said that Chimaev weighed 198.4 lbs, whereas Hermansson weighed 193.5 lbs.

It looks like Chimaev was much closer to his walk-around weight during the weigh-in and looked massive. His high walk-around weight and his ability to cut weight for fights could help him occupy at least two UFC divisions in the future. However, for now, Chimaev is yet to conquer the welterweight division. He has caused a lot of chaos and it looks like he will continue to do so.

It would be interesting to see the outcome of Khamzat Chimaev versus Jack Hermansson’s bout. If Chimaev manages to win, the possibility of him dominating two divisions at UFC could be something that might happen in the future.
