From superman punches, spinning actions, double knockouts; the sport of MMA has seen many outlandish feats. However, what happened at IMMAF Super Cup 2022 was something unprecedented.

A KO is nothing new in an MMA bout. However, at the Brave MMA’s IMMAF Super Cup 2022 Semi-Finals, a mixed martial artist struck the referee.
During a lightweight semi-final showdown, Luis Enrique Gonzalez Martinez, who did a rolling thunder/cartwheel kick, accidentally connected with the referee and knocked him out. Since it was the final seconds of the round, the official was close to the fighters in order to stop the fight. Unfortunately for him, he was in the range of the attack.

However, in between the rounds, the referee got back to his feet, and the bout continued without any interruption. Gonzalez Martinez (0-2) lost the fight via unanimous decision to Lewis Byrne, who advanced to the finals with the win.

Though this was a rare moment, there have been recent occasions of absurd actions inside the MMA arena.
A first of double low blow in MMA
Not long ago, there was a double low blow inside a UFC octagon. During the Dana White’s Contender Series 2021, Week 10, Jonas Bilharinho and Canaan Kawaihae connected a solid shot at the same time. Unfortunately for both fighters, the placement of the shot was not good as they struck each other with a knee to the groin and hit the ground.
Even the commentators were shocked to see the sequence.

When the fight restarted, Jonas Bilharinho got the highlight reel KO via wheel kick in the third round.
