A Ukrainian Fighter created history in the KSW event as he secured one of the fastest knockouts in MMA History. His Knockout tied up with Jorge Masvidal’s five-second KO record.
During the midway of the KSW 73 event, the Ukrainian light-heavyweight Bohdan Gnidko faced off against polish powerhouse Damian Piwowarczyk. The event took place at COS Torwar in Warsaw, Poland. Fans anticipated it to be a close contest, but what followed had everyone stunned.

As soon as the fight began, both fighters came to the center of the cage to engage. Damian Piwowarczyk decided to start the fight with a low leg kick. But unfortunately, his plans were stopped in his tracks as Bohdan Gnidko countered his leg kick with a perfect overhand right which split his opponent’s guard.
Damian Piwowarczyk then got caught flush with that right hand and fell flat on his back. Bohdan Gnidko followed that knockdown with a barrage of punches to his already unconscious opponent.

The referee then immediately jumped in between to stop the fight. The knockout was so quick that the tv clock had not even appeared on the screen. According to the official decision, the fight was stopped at five seconds.

Many believe that it could have been even quicker than that. Consequently, Bohdan Gnidko joined the elite list of the fastest knockouts in the world and is tied with Jorge Masvidal on the five seconds mark. Bohdan Gnidko will be happy as this knockout is the fastest KO in KSW history.
Jorge Masvidal’s KO Win
The title for the fastest KO in UFC still lies with Jorge Masvidal. At UFC 239, Jorge Masvidal fought in a grudge match against Ben Askren. The duo had gone back and forth before the fight, which made Jorge Masvidal angry. Even after facing the Ben Askren trash talk assault, Jorge Masvidal kept his composure during their fight.

Jorge Masvidal was leaning back on the cage before the start of the fight and as the bell ringed he slightly changed directions while running towards Ben Askren. He landed a flying knee flush on Ben Askren, knocking him out cold.
Masvidal followed that up with some vicious blows to the face before the referee pulled him off. He then surpassed the prior fastest KO, which belonged to Duane Ludwig.
