Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fought at one of the most popular MMA events of the year. The pair fought each other at the main event of UFC 264. This fight was the third between the two fighters, and with the score tied at 1-1, people were really excited to see how the trilogy ends.

‘Notorious’ and Poirier first faced each other at the UFC 178 event back in 2014. That time ‘The Diamond’ was the more established star, while McGregor was still making his way in the UFC. ‘Notorious’ had won that fight via a first-round TKO. Ever since that fight fans had been eagerly waiting for a rematch between the two fighters.

Finally, the fans got their wish fulfilled 7 years later at UFC 257, this time around Poirier won the fight via a 2nd round TKO. Therefore fans were really excited about UFC 264 and to watch who wins the trilogy. However, the fight ended in a most anticlimactic fashion as McGregor snapped his leg towards the end of the first round.

He could not continue thereafter, and they declared Poirier the winner.

Ever since the fight was announced, various fans and celebrities shared their views on the fight. Among them was former NFL star Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson, who had bet on a victory for McGregor.

During the post-fight press conference, Poirier had some fun and asked ‘Ochocinco’ about the same. He said, “I just want to know how much Chad Ochocinco lost tonight. You bet on Conor no?” To which Johnson replied, “I lost 20 bucks.”
