Amanda Nunes faced off against Valentina Shevchenko and beat her at the end of three rounds via a unanimous decision. But the major attraction of this card was the co-main and main event.
The co-main event featured Holly Holm and Miesha Tate brawling it out for the women’s bantamweight title. The two fighters opened the first round patiently, with Tate throwing a few strikes but Holm getting the better of the exchanges.
The second round favored Tate, as she used her superior grappling skills to control Holm. In the third round, Holm used her long strikes to keep Tate at bay. The fourth round was evenly matched, with both the fighters exchanging strikes throughout the round.

The fifth and final round started with Holm putting pressure and landing shots on Tate. But just as things looked bleak for Tate, she achieved the impossible. Tate jumped into a back mount and choked out Holm via a rear-naked choke. With this win, Tate was awarded the bantamweight title.
The Big Upset of Conor McGregor
The main event for UFC 196 was by far the most memorable fight on the entire card. UFC superstar Conor McGregor faced off against Stockton’s very own Nate Diaz. With Diaz taking the fight on short notice, he was the underdog going into the fight.
