UFC middleweight king Israel Adesanya took to Twitter and once again went after his UFC 253 opponent, Paulo Costa. The clapback came after ‘Borrachinha’ drew the first blood with a trolling video. The 20-0 champion is extremely proficient with social media trolling and Costa is a frequent target. The aforementioned 185-pounders have no kind words for each other, and their rivalry boiled over in a title fight.

‘The Last Stylebender’ walked right through the previously undefeated Brazilian challenger and commanded the attention of UFC fans and critics. Costa could not execute his patented forward pressuring tactics and fell victim to ‘Izzy’s’ masterful striking. What’s more, the City-Kickboxing stand-out is arguably one of the fastest-growing fighters on the UFC roster, and his skillset speaks for itself.

The Nigerian born fighter has garnered plenty of positive and negative attention based on his recent social media antics. Furthermore, Adesanya’s mention of Chael Sonnen in the Tweet went a long way in grabbing the attention of fans. The former title challenger turned ESPN analyst, is arguably one of the most recognizable former fighters. Not to mention, his days in the UFC saw him hold up the mantle as a massive star.

Chael Sonnen would antagonize his fellow divisional fighters by trolling them and engaging in mental warfare. His attempt at mind games was also, more often than not, always backed up by high-profile showings.

Israel Adesanya’s continued social media presence will bring forth more visibility to his brand. However, his in-cage performances have backed up his warring words and he will be keen to continue his upward trajectory.

It appears a fight with Jon Jones may be on the card for Israel Adesanya, as ‘Bones’ has become a new target. However, he will have his hands full with the current stock of middleweight fighters who are gunning for UFC gold.
