UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane is set to face his highest-ranked opponent yet in the UFC in his first main event. Gane will take on kickboxing ace Jairzinho Rozenstruik on February 27 at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas. The 7-0 prospect is certainly facing stiff competition early in his career, however, he has shown great promise.
‘Bon Gamin’ has been nothing but promising in his UFC run thus far and has managed to scalp some major wins. He’s fresh off a TKO win over former champion Junior Dos Santos from December 2020. In fact, he’s finished all but one of his professional career wins thus far and in an emphatic fashion, no less.

Ciryl Gane: Exchanging leather with the best
The heavy-handed Frenchman came out of MMA Factory where he’s spent a meaningful period as Francis Ngannou’s training partner. Furthermore, there’s an added benefit to having trained with someone who fought and beat Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Ngannou’s fast-twitch pressuring style has served him well and his win over Ngannou came in just 20 seconds. Ciryl Gane will take away a lot from that contest and will hope to be riding high from the experience he’s gathered. ‘The Predator’ has faced the who’s-who in the division thus far and come out on top against almost everyone.
Moreover, Ciryl Gane will take solace in the fact that he’s such an elite talent no matter where the fight ultimately goes. His UFC debut against Raphael Pessoa ended via a first-round Arm-Triangle choke. With that win, he joined Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Stefan Struve, Kimo Leopoldo, and Travis Brown to win via Arm-Triangle.

There’s no question that Ciryl Gane is a prospect to be feared and a win against ‘Bigi Boy’ will set him up for massive things. However, he must be wary of the power that the Surinamese fighter carrier late into the fight. He managed to cleanly KO Alistair Overeem in the dying seconds of their fight despite losing on the cards to that point.
