UFC lightweight Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson recently uploaded a video of himself going wild on an innocent leather speed bag. The footage showed his incredible punching speed and coordination. Of course, the song playing in the background is ‘Extreme Ways [In The Style of Moby]’ by the group ‘Done Again’. No one wouldn’t really expect anything else from Ferguson.

All jokes aside, Ferguson seems like he is in great shape. He has significantly bulked up, and a move up to welterweight doesn’t seem that far-fetched. Any doubt about his speed at 170 will have to rest for now. His caption for the video included plenty of emojis and a mention of his speed. Interestingly, he ended it with allusions to a “champ.”

He uploaded another tweet, showing off his bulked-up physique and massive biceps. This tweet was more significant, as it included a warning shot to none other than Khabib Nurmagomedov. He ended the tweet with a phrase that said, “ComingAfterKhabib.”

Their fight has been made five times in the UFC. Unfortunately, this fight was also canceled all times due to a host of reasons.

Their rivalry dates back to 2015 when the UFC booked them for the finale of the Ultimate Fighter 22. Since then, injuries, faulty weight cuts, and finally, the COVID-19 pandemic at UFC 249 caused the fight to be called off again and again.

Dana White admitted defeat after the fifth fight got canceled. He was asked about this in the UFC 256 post-fight conference, and he said, “It just didn’t (happen). It wasn’t from lack of trying. We put that fight together five times. It just wasn’t meant to be.” However, since then, he has also said that he would be willing to make the fight for the sixth time.

There are loads of options for “El Cucuy” to take up in the UFC, and all of them look incredibly exciting. While a fight with Khabib seems unlikely, the hysteria it will generate when it finally happens would be over the top.
