UFC 271 was probably the best showcase event for the heavyweight from western Sydney, Tai Tuivasa. Not only did he ironically KO the knockout king of the UFC, but he also got his boss, Dana White, to take part in a ‘Shoey’ ritual with him.

UFC President Dana White is one of the most popular entities in the MMA space. Although he is known for strict conduct, he is not one to bail out of a special moment with his fighters. On the day of the second UFC pay-per-view of the year, UFC 271, the winner of the co-main event ‘Bambam’ Tuivasa persuaded the UFC supremo to drink beer out of a device he named the ‘Shoeyvasa.’

Tuivasa won his fifth straight fight in the UFC as he bounced back from a three-fight losing skid. Although ‘The Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis landed some tremendous blows on Tuivasa in the first round of their bout, the Aussie was successful in surviving the first round. Then he picked himself up in the second round and put Lewis to sleep with a well-placed 1-2 combination, followed by elbows to his face.

Tuivasa had been trying to get Dana White to do a ‘Shoey’ for a long time. However, he never got the thumbs up from the boss prior to UFC 271.

Dana White had a hilarious response to the ‘Shoey’

Tai Tuivasa, in his quest to get Dana White to do a ‘Shoey’, tried to persuade the UFC Supremo on multiple occasions. However, White ducked the question every time it popped up.

Seeing this, a media reporter asked White whether he would ever take part in a ‘Shoey’ with Tuivasa. Meanwhile, White had a hilarious response to it as he said, “If the world was on fire and everybody was dying of thirst, that’s the last f***ing thing I would do.”
