Some fans felt that Powerslap had all the ingredients to be a hit while another section of fans totally rejected it for the brutal knock-outs and the injuries the athletes suffer from in the sport. Fans were also skeptical about the athletes not having any defense. A lot of reactions indicated that the lack of defense came out as a lack of skills required in combat sports. The video showed a slapper delivering a hard slap on his opponent, who was knocked out cold. The Powerslap staff had to jump into action to break the knocked-out slapper’s fall to avoid further injury. Despite the available safety measures, fans didn’t seem to be impressed.

Fans react to Powerslap Knockout

Fans took little time to let their feelings known as the UFC Instagram handle, which has over 35 million followers shared the Video from PowerSlap which has almost 230 K followers. A fan commented, “Why is this still a thing? Make it go away.” Another fan commented.“Terrible sport. Won’t even call it a sport. So it’s just terrible.”.

Fans felt Dana White made the wrong call backing the slapping sport. A fan said, Backing this “sport” was a huge mistake by Dana White. No audience for this at all.” Another fan, however, compared the PowerSlap to UFC and said, “Lol people complaining while watching ufc which is worst”

Fans laid it on Dana White as a fan commented, “if Dana White truly believes this is a good sport I want him to be playing in this sport for one fight”. Another fan bared his feelings and wrote, “This is not a sport. I respect Dana for all that he has done for the UFC but this is a total waste” As a fan totally canceled the Powerslap and wrote, This is complete nonsense” another fan was very sarcastic in his comment. He said.“Hitting people who aren’t allowed to defend themselves… cool.”

PowerSlap has been in controversy

Powerslap, backed by Dana White, is the first rendition of the sort available on TV. The show Powerslap: Road to the Title first aired on the 18th of January but has been in controversy for the potential health risks involved for the athletes. The sport was initially made famous by Russian and Polish athletes.

Although the sport is now licensed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, fans have not been too kind towards the sport. Social media has been on fire with the brutal knock-outs that have been featured on the show till now, but what happens to be in store for the show in the future remains a mystery.
