He started out as a featherweight in the UFC and gradually built his body up to compete at 155. Recently, he got the biggest win of his career when he beat Conor McGregor in January via knockout. They were supposed to fight again on July 10th but that might be in disarray now.

Meanwhile, Poirier is showcasing his strength on YouTube. He appeared in a video alongside strongman Brian Shaw, who is the 4-time winner of the world’s strongest man competition. They took part in several challenges throughout the video and competed to see who’s the best.

In a series of tests that involved picking up a medicine ball above their shoulders, Poirier lost 2-1. It was still a decent showing from the man representing MMA as he was competing against quite literally the world’s strongest man.

Maybe this will transition over to his MMA career and he’ll become even bigger. He looked absolutely huge in his last fight against Conor. Their trilogy fight will be paramount in determining which fighter gets the upper hand in the end.

Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor trilogy fight scratched?

However, it might never happen as there was some controversy regarding McGregor’s promised 500k donation to Dustin’s charity. The Irishman went on Twitter to tweet out that their fight on July 10th was now canceled.

Poirier responded with a ‘OK’ and a video of him knocking Conor out. It all seems very unfortunate as the fans would have loved to see such an amazing fight. However, it’s worse for the children that Poirier’s charity supports as they might not get the help that they need.
