It sounds Khamzat Chimaev’s rise was predicted before his entry into UFC. MMA veteran and UFC color commentator Brian Stann have already given a launch to Chimaev on how he will bring waves to UFC.

In an Instagram post by MMA publication IslandMMA, at the 2017 Fight Night, Auckland press meet Brian Stann said, “There is a welterweight at Sweden, all-stars MMA. I don’t know his name. I just know by reputation. He is not in the UFC yet, but he got a whole lot of success with all the big names he trained with. In MMA all starts Stockholm and when we got this kid signed, I think he is going to make some real waves”

There’s seems to be no uncertainty in Brian’s prediction.’The Borz’ has made waves in UFC. Through his splendid performance, he has captured everyone’s attention. He revealed his aim to create history by becoming the first three-weight world champion.

Khamzat Chimaev’s unstoppable rise in the welterweight division

The Swedish fighter is a three-time national wrestling champion. Chimaev has only fought four times in the UFC, winning two by knockout and two by submission.

Except for his debut bout with John Philips, which he choked out in the second round and won through submission, he ended all of his UFC fights in the first round.

Chimaev is about to fight Gilbert Burns in UFC 273. ‘Durinho’ ranked second in the welterweight division. He is a potential opponent for ‘The Borz’, and has won seven of his last eight bouts. He lost to the division’s champion Kamaru Usman via TKO at 34 seconds in the third round.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is a great threat to Chimaev in his division. Usman stands undefeated in his division by defending his title five times.

But ‘The Borz’  went a step ahead and called out UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, saying, “Adesanya easy money for me, 0 wrestling”.

It’s amusing that Chimaev has hardly had a single title fight, despite challenging Israel Adesanya. It shows ‘The Borz’ confidence to catch up on his dream of Three weight world champion.
