Nate Diaz is one of the biggest superstars in mixed martial arts. He is a veteran of the sport and fans always tune in to watch him fight. Diaz is also a former UFC lightweight title contender. However, his popularity reached new heights after UFC 196.

Stockton’s own was coming off a win against Michael Johnson when he had to take a short-notice fight against Conor McGregor. Diaz stepped in to fight ‘The Notorious’ on an 11-day notice and beat the biggest star in the UFC. This skyrocketed his stock and a rematch with the Irishman was set for UFC 202.

Before the fight, McGregor was looked at as the favorite to win the rematch. During an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, people on the streets were asked about what they thought about the rematch. One fan said that McGregor was going to knock Diaz out. However, he was in for a surprise as Diaz immediately came up behind him and shocked him.

This made the fan a bit nervous and made him eat his words. However, he wasn’t the only one who faced this fate. More fans who picked McGregor to win the rematch got the same surprise.

Right now, Diaz is on his last fight on the contract and the UFC is targeting a blockbuster fight.

UFC interested in Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier

Dustin Poirier is fresh off a disappointing title loss against Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. He got submitted in the third round after coming out strong in the first round. After the fight, ‘The Diamond,’ on multiple occasions said he’ll have to give a thought to his fighting career.

However, in an interview with Teddy Atlas, he said that a possible fight against Nate Diaz lit that fire again. Both men want this fight, and the UFC president in an interview confirmed that the promotion is also interested in it.

But he also wasn’t sure if that is that fight that will get made.
