Former two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, kept a close eye on how things unfolded at last weekend’s UFC 261. Valentina Shevchenko defeated Jessica Andrade to retain her flyweight title in a stunning performance. Now, many fans want to see ‘Bullet’ clash against two-division champion Amanda Nunes next.

Nunes and Shevchenko have fought twice previously with ‘Leoa’ winning on both occasions. However, one might argue that the judges did Shevchenko wrong in the second fight. Cejudo has chimed in his thoughts and suggested an interesting stipulation to a possible third fight. The duo has previously fought at bantamweight, but ‘The Messenger’ wants the third fight to be at a 130 lbs division.

“Valentina Shevchenko. What’s next for her. There’s only one fight that’s next for her. And that’s against Amanda Nunes and think about the two guys in the past Valentina in Muay Thai, she has always fought at 125 pounds being at 135 pounds that wasn’t natural to her,” said ‘Triple-C’.

“So I say this is what we do. We create a weight class at 130 pounds and this can be a one-time thing kind of like the BMA or the BMF where these two girls are going to find out 135 pounds, at 130 pounds, I’m sorry, and we’re gonna determine who the best one in the world is. That’s my take on that,” he added.

It remains to be seen if the UFC orders a catchweight bout for a specially minted belt in the women’s division. Nevertheless, the idea from Cejudo is very appealing considering Shevchenko has flourished at flyweight, and Nunes is the bantamweight and featherweight champion of the promotion.

Henry Cejudo lauded Valentina Shevchenko’s performance against Jessica Andrade

Many believed Jessica Andrade had the skill set to be Shevchenko’s kryptonite. They felt that her wrestling prowess would be troublesome for ‘Bullet’. But ‘The Messenger‘ believes the champion showed her extremely high level as a fighter as she dominated Andrade on the ground, eventually earning a second-round T/KO.

Nunes and Shevchenko are no doubt the best female fighters of all time. So, it’s only fitting they clash again considering how close the first two fights were. It remains to be seen if that’s next for ‘Bullet‘. One can expect a clearer picture after ‘The Lioness’ next bout against Julianna Pena.
