“We Don’t Know What His Deal Is”: UFC Legend Gives His Two Cents on Multi-Billionaire META CEO Mark Zuckerberg Appointing ONE Championship Champ Mikey Musumeci as His New Grappling Coach
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is all set to continue working on his mixed martial arts skills. He has recently hired the BJJ GOAT, Mikey Musumeci, to polish his skills. Zuckerberg has already taken part in a BJJ match and brought medals home. The Facebook founder was able to achieve gold and silver medals at his debut BJJ tournament in Redwood City, California. Zuckerberg’s victory was a totally unexpected one, as many consider him a tech giant and nothing beyond that. The 38-year-old began to develop an interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when the COVID-19 pandemic engulfed the world.
Zuckerberg is trying hard to improve himself further. Now, it is Mikey Musumeci who is training the Facebook CEO. Musumeci is a five-time IBJJF black belt World Champion. Currently, he is signed to the ONE Championship, where he reigns as the flyweight submission grappling champion. After coming across the information, retired UFC legend Chael Sonnen gave his thoughts on the matter.

The retired UFC star, Chael Sonnen, was talking on his YouTube channel about Mark Zuckerberg’s new trainer. He said, “If Zuckerberg is looking for roles, I see because we don’t know what his deal is right. We don’t know if his deal is technique. We don’t know if this deal is strategy. The part that he feels, ‘Hey this is what I need.’ He feels ‘I don’t have the biggest muscles in the world but I’m pretty good at flexibility.“

Talking further on the same topic, Sonnen added, “This is a guy who doesn’t use power. He uses flexibility, ‘I’m going to grab him and I’m going to learn the techniques’. If that’s the thing, we’re in a good spot. What if it’s fear? What if it’s a matter of ‘I don’t know how good my opponent is’? This is a really common one guys. It’s a real common one that athletes often have a hard time articulating.” According to Sonnen, it was important to know about Zuckerberg’s intentions.
A report from Bloody Elbow also mentioned Mark Zuckerberg collaborating with UFC stars on a metaverse project. The promotion and the multi-billionaire came together to sell virtual reality metaverse access in the near future for the fans to enjoy the fights in a great way. It is clear that the meta CEO is a huge combat sports fan who loves to make the sport a part of his life. Are you excited to watch a BJJ bout of Mark Zuckerberg in the future?
