Jones, through his charity, the C.A.R.E project is offering 100 local families in Albuquerque a $500 shopping spree at a local Walmart. This will be the second time Jones and his charity will be doing such a thing. Last year, they gave away 50 families $500 dollars during Christmas time.

During a recent interview, ‘Bones’ talked about his charity and the motivation behind it. He said, “Yes, so this is the second annual C.A.R.E project Christmas giveaway… We’re going to choose 100 families to give a $500 shopping spree at a local Walmart. We’re gonna do a Walmart on the east side of town. We’ll do one on the west side of town. I’m really excited to put some smiles on some people’s faces.”

While talking about why he decided to do it, he said, “I just think where we are in the world, we need more love, and I just want to be a difference. Kind of a local example of what loving your neighbor looks like. So that’s what we’re going to do, we’re just doing to try to help.” He also talked about his own troubles outside the octagon and how that’s been a motivation as well. Jones said, “I’ve had a really controversial journey. A lot of good and there’s been some bad in there. I just want to try to right some wrongs for sure.”

When and how did the charity start?

Jon Jones has been out of action since early 2020. During his time off and at the peak of the pandemic, Jones found a group of people and started the charity.

During an interview, he talked about how it all came into being. He said, “I just wanted to do something good. Throughout the pandemic, I felt like the world was getting so far away from God.”

“So what I did here in Albuquerque was that I found a group of people that came from so many different backgrounds and races and political viewpoints. I got them to rally together for the C.A.R.E. foundation, where we just give back and show God’s love,” he added.

Jones is certainly doing his bit of trying to give back to society. He is also consistently training to stay in shape at Fight Ready with Henry Cejudo. ‘Bones’ is planning to make a return in either April or July of next year.
