“ We Will ALL Miss Her!” – UFC President Dana White Bids Adieu to Joanna Jedrzejczyk

UFC 275 just concluded and fans got to witness a range of breathtaking fights. The main card featured an iconic rematch featuring former UFC strawweight champions Joanna ‘JJ’ Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili. Their previous outing in 2020 earned them the fight of the year honor and the rematch produced similar fireworks.
Unlike the previous outing, the rematch only lasted for 2 rounds, as the Chinese mixed martial artist secured a captivating second-round KO. Weili showcased her now improved wrestling prowess throughout the fight, as she controlled the pace and grappling exchanges.

In the end, it was a beautifully timed, spinning back-fist that sealed the deal. This marked her second loss in a row, forcing her to make this decision as her push for the world title fades away. An emotional, JJ stated it was her time to walk away from the sport as she aims to pursue other ventures outside MMA.
A Twitter user and UFC fan managed to get hold of UFC President Dana White’s statement, following JJ’s shocking retirement. White reportedly said,” She was such a huge part of the growth of women’s MMA and it was incredible to have her be a part of this company. We will ALL miss her!”

She still holds the record of having the number of title defenses in the strawweight division. Ever since she dropped the title to Rose Namajunas, the 115 lbs division hasn’t seen a dominant champion like her.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is ready to open a brand new chapter
Emotional JJ broke down her loss, saying that she was still proud of her performance. She even joked about doing the same technique that Weili threw to earn the KO. The polish fighter expressed her gratitude to all her fans, coaching staff, and UFC brass for giving her career. Also, she opened up about what awaits her next.

She said,” Guys, I love life so much, I will join DC’s league. I am retired guys, love you so much, Thank you for the support.” She continued, “Guys, it’s been 20 years. I am turning 35 this year, I wanna be a mum, I wanna be a businesswoman, I don’t know why this happened? And I have been training for decades, most for half of my life. I appreciate you all.”
