The Conor McGregor-Michael Chandler fight saga is stretching on amid uncertainty. The Irishman’s obscure USADA status has left the fans and pros scratching their heads about if and when the fight will happen. However, one fan remains confident about the fight, and that is Michael Chandler himself.

If not for anything else, Chandler deserves credit for planting his feet and standing firm in his choice to wait for McGregor. ‘Iron’ Michael is hell-bent on getting the famed ‘Red Panty Night.’ What’s more, he wants to be thorough when he beats ‘The Notorious’.

The 37-year-old recently sat down with former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier to discuss ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and the impending Conor McGregor fight. Chandler had no doubt in his mind about fighting McGregor and he swore by it.

Furthermore, he had some interesting insights about the mind games that were happening on the show and how it would lead up to their showdown.

According to recent reports, Conor McGregor missed the USADA deadline to the eligible for competition in 2023. Hence, many are expecting him to return in early 2024. Meanwhile, some are speculating the Irishman has lost interest in Chandler and is looking for a new opponent.

But Chandler had no doubt in his mind. Talking to Cormier, he said, “The deal was, when we started the show, and the deal still is, that we’re gonna fight each other. We’re gonna fight each other after the show.”

Speaking about TUF 31, he said, “So, the competition, which is our fight, which would be months after the show airs, started the day that we set foot down in Vegas, right? So, gamesmanship, mind games, I wanted to beat him at every turn, beat him in every fight and then eventually beat him in out fight, when we do fight.”

Team Chandler has been doing exceptionally well on the show so far. In the four episodes that have aired, the red team won all the fights, leading McGregor’s boys in blue by a 4-0 margin. This puts the anticipation for the next episode through the roof as it could be make or break for Team McGregor.
