Weeks After His Pay Controversy Involving Stephen Thompson, Dana White Makes a Startling Revelation on ‘Wonderboy’ Turning Down the Fight Against Ian Garry at UFC 292

Even though Thompson turned down the bout against Garry, White has everything planned for his next fight. The UFC boss revealed that the date and venue of Garry’s next fight are already decided. He hinted that it wouldn’t be against the top welterweight fighter. Also, the 54-year-old confirmed that Garry’s next outing won’t be in his country, Ireland; instead, it will take place in Madison Square Garden. On the other hand, White has nothing else to offer Thompson, who didn’t even receive his purse for UFC 291.

White didn’t pay ‘Wonderboy’
Stephen Thompson did all that he could to make the bout between him and Pereira possible. He even made weight and successfully completed the weigh-in. However, Pereira missed the weight by three pounds. This provoked ‘Wonderboy’ to withdraw from the bout. During that time, the UFC boss was on vacation in Italy, and he hoped that the UFC would pay him once White was back.

Later, Dana White made it clear that they wouldn’t pay him for UFC 292 as he had canceled the bout at the last moment. This resulted in Thompson losing faith in the UFC.
