In January, he took his obsession to new heights by adding a heavily customized Tesla Model S Plaid to his collection. ‘Unplugged Performance’ modified the electric supercar, and a delivery video featured its aggressive new look. Outfitted with a full carbon fiber body kit, white and blue pearl paint, bamboo leather, and Alcantara interior, the car now boasts sleeker aerodynamics and a bolder road presence.

The transformation didn’t just impress fans—Tesla CEO and Rogan’s longtime friend Elon Musk even chimed in with a single word after seeing the revamp: “Cool.” Fast forward to now, Rogan is once again hyping up his futuristic ride. In response to a Tesla owner’s post on X showing off the car’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities, the UFC commentator shared his own wild experience, writing: “I had my Tesla Model S drive me home the other day with FSD, and it’s f—-ng wild. Changes lanes to avoid slow traffic, stops at red lights and stop signs, hits the blinkers, and turns for you. It’s bananas.”

But the Plaid isn’t Joe Rogan’s first rodeo with Tesla. He also owns the 2017 Model S P100D — a car he once called “the fastest thing ever.” Beyond the insane speed, the podcaster has often praised the cabin’s comfort and design, saying it made him feel like “Tesla is the future.” He even likened the P100D experience to piloting a spaceship.

Rogan’s love for speed and innovation doesn’t stop at Tesla. A self-proclaimed gearhead and longtime muscle car fan, he’s often used his podcast to spotlight the evolving world of EVs. Earlier this year, a wave of coordinated attacks targeted Tesla properties across multiple countries. It wasn’t just the cars that were hit — charging stations, showrooms, and other Tesla infrastructure were also vandalized. The attacks appeared to be aimed not only at Tesla CEO Elon Musk but also at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), sparking widespread concern. What began in the U.S. quickly spread to other countries, including Canada, France, the UK, and New Zealand.

U.S. President Donald Trump condemned the incidents as “domestic terrorism”. Moreover, he urged that those behind the attacks — which caused millions in damages — be sent to prison, even suggesting incarceration in El Salvador for 20 years. Elon Musk echoed the seriousness of the situation, calling the vandalism a “coordinated attack.” Despite the high-profile reactions, investigators have yet to find any conclusive leads or identify the people responsible. Of course, longtime Tesla enthusiast Joe Rogan didn’t hold back.

In episode #2293 of The Joe Rogan Experience, during a conversation with Chris Williamson, Rogan shared his controversial take on the situation. “It’s funded by NGOs. That’s where it gets really creepy,” Rogan claimed. “Tesla fires are funded by NGOs… They organize protests. Different NGOs do… all funded by the government, all funded by taxpayer money in this weird way.”
