“Well Deserved!!”- Grammy Award Winner Lil Wayne Showers UFC Legend Daniel Cormier With Some Good Words After His UFC Hall of Fame Induction

Famous American rapper and a long-time MMA fan, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. aka Lil Wayne, had some good words for the former two-weight champion Daniel Cormier after UFC announced the latter would be inducted into the UFC’s Hall of Fame this June.

The promotion announced the news, just before the co-main event of UFC 274 in Phoenix, Arizona last Saturday. It was a delightful moment for the Louisiana native who has given his life to the sport.

DC has had a long career in the promotion. He has held titles in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions of the UFC. The 22-3 record holder departed from UFC in 2020.

However, Cormier still does his part in the sport by commenting on major UFC events. He is the first name to be included in the Hall of Fame Class of 2022. It is a well-deserved recognition for the former champion.

Hence, while congratulating him, Lil Wayne, who is also a Louisiana native, wrote on Twitter, “Congrats DC!!!! Hall of f**kn fame!!! Well deserved!! You know you at the top when only Heaven’s right above it.”

In response to Wayne’s tweet, DC wrote, “Thank you so much my brother, was always so special to represent where we from and use your music as the soundtrack to my fights. All love Goat!”

Both DC and Lil Wayne share a good bond with each other. Cormier has even used the Grammy award winner Lil Wayne’s songs for his walkouts several times. Hence, the rapper hailed the UFC legend in his recent tweet.

Khabib Nurmagomedov congratulates Daniel Cormier after the UFC Fall of Fame induction

DC’s long-time friend and former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov also congratulated him with an Instagram post after the Hall of Fame induction announcement.

 

In the caption, Nurmagomedov wrote, It was a great honor for me to train almost 10 years shoulder to shoulder with you. I learned a lot from you. It’s unbelievable that we both got into the UFC hall of fame in 2022.”

Interestingly, with DC, his friend ‘The Eagle’ will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2022. Nurmagomedov and DC have been best friends since the Dagestani native joined the American Kickboxing Academy.

Their friendship is amongst the best in the industry. Fight fans have always enjoyed the friendship between the pair through their videos. They have trained and had fun working together AKA gym.

Hence, it is a great achievement for both the fighters to be inducted into the Hall of Fame side by side.
