“We’ll Fu*king Put On an Incredible Show”: Days After the U2 Event at Sphere, Dana White Reveals His Plan of Hosting Next Year’s Mexican Independence Day UFC Event at $2.3B Structure

The Madison Square Garden Company opened up a new arena in Las Vegas in partnership with Las Vegas Sands Corporation. It is called the Sphere, more popularly known as the MSG Sphere. It was integrated on September 29th, and the Irish rock band ‘U2’ became the first musical group to perform in it. As such, UFC CEO Dana White is eyeing to hold UFC events there in the future.

The UFC recently found great success with Noche UFC, which became the biggest Fight Night event ever. Even though it ended on a controversial note, it generated more than $2 million gate. With that in mind, Dana White is looking to return next year. Let’s catch a glimpse of what he had to say.

During the recent Contender Series press conference, Dana White revealed that he wants to return with another event on Mexican Independence Day. And he plans to make it a tradition.  White said, “You all know that I want that date. That’s what I want.”

Furthermore, Dana White mentioned that the UFC event on Mexican Independence Day will take place in Las Vegas once again. However, this time, he wants a new venue- “I want to do the Mexican Independence Day there. Imagine the show I can put on at the Sphere with Mexican Independence Day,” said the UFC boss.

The UFC president-turned-CEO claims to be excited about that idea. Dana White even promised to the media personnel during the press conference that he would put up one of the best UFC events at the MSG Sphere.

“We’ll fu*king put on an incredible show in that amazing arena for the next Mexican Independence Day. So I am very excited about it,” the 54-year-old promoter added. Moreover, he also praised the people who built that amazing arena.

Madison Square Garden has already established itself as the most recognized and popular arena in the world. From sporting events to music concerts, the crowd at the arena has seen it all. However, Dana White believes that building the $2.3 billion-worth MSG Sphere is the biggest thing the arena makers have ever done.

“From what I hear, the guys at MSG couldn’t have hit a bigger home run with the opening of the Sphere,” said Dana White (6:43). Moreover, he also acknowledged the fact that the Madison Square Garden Company is at the top of its game when it comes to building arenas. “I mean, these guys are one of the biggest and best in all of the arena business,” White added.

The MSG Sphere is not even a week old at this point. Hence, it remains to be seen how events in the future will shape up. Given that Dana White is already looking to hold UFC events there, we may also get to see combat sports like boxing fights and even WWE shows.
