Although UFC president Dana White has been lining up explosive fight cards and taking the promotion to different levels, the fighters seem unhappy with the pay that they are receiving. White has taken a stand against these allegations saying time and again that the fighters are well taken care of.
While some of the fighters have voiced their displeasure, others seem to think that White is being just and fair – and for good reason. Among the fighters that are siding with White is former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal. He has justified why he thinks White is doing right by the fighters in detail in a recent interview that he gave.

Masvidal spills the beans – Exclusive details about the UFC and the fighter’s biggest payday

(Photo by James Chance/Getty Images)”I only signed up to the sport to do two things. When I decided like this is what I’m gonna do for the rest of my life, was to get the biggest paychecks possible per fight or to fight the baddest motherf*****s in the world. Like that’s it. Like I don’t want no in-between like if it’s fighting some bum dude and I’m not getting paid – it’s cool man. I just train. I’ll say to myself. Now if Imma fight either a badass or get paid, sign me up all day.” said Masvidal. “So a lot of these dudes they call me out or look past me. I give a f**kless about it.” added the former BMF champion, unfazed and unbothered.
Fans have always wondered – how much can a top-tier fighter get paid for one fight. Jorge Masvidal answered that question in the interview itself. When asked about the biggest payday that the former champ has celebrated, Jorge Masvidal replied, “The most? I say right around 5 Ms. [$5 million]”. Curious and evidently confused owing to the recent pay-scale controversies, the interviewer asked if it included benefits like insurance, etc.
“No no no. So we.. The UFC takes care of us to an extent with Medicals, right? So if anything happens to you at the fight or in preparation for the fight, we’re very well taken care of. And even after the fight; in the gym. Anything that happens in the gym related, we’re very well taken care of. But, we don’t have like insurance aside of that like a dental plan. But anything that happens related to fighting or training, they take full care of it.” clarified Masvidal.
