All we know about Holly Holm’s parents and ethnicity

Holly Holm was born on October 17, 1981, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She initially wanted to take up wrestling as a career and later moved to kickboxing to pursue her dreams. One of the biggest influencers in her MMA journey is her parents Roger Holm and Tammy Bredy. Her mother is a massage therapist(Tammy Bredy) and her father(Roger Holm) is a pastor who played a very important role in shaping her career. Holm initially showed her interest in wrestling but her parents forced her to choose a different sport as there was no girls’ team available for wrestling.

42-year-old Holm was also an exceptionally gifted boxer during her initial days. She holds a record of 33-2-3 in boxing and also won the WBF Female World Light Welterweight and World Welterweight titles. However, she decided to retire from boxing in 2013 and moved to MMA. One of the biggest highlights of her career was when she defeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Many experts had ruled out Holm before the fight, but she surprised everyone with her performance. While her fans were super excited after the fight, her father was the happiest.
