American social media personality Addison Rae has had an unpleasant history with one of the biggest MMA promotions in the world. She worked as a correspondent for a major event, UFC 264, that took place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on 10th July 2021.

Rae also interviewed famous UFC fighters like former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier and former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson. However, her role as a UFC correspondent was a sort of short story.

Right after she landed the role of a UFC correspondent, the 21-year-old made a tongue-in-cheek tweet on her official Twitter account. Her tweet read, “I studied broadcast journalism in college for 3 whole months to prepare for this moment.”

However, Rae’s tweet came out as very unsettling for many journalism veterans and UFC fans. Consequently, she received a massive backlash for her words.

Rae, who was pursuing a sports journalism degree, dropped out of Louisiana State University to focus on her social media career. This gave many people an additional point to call out the social media star for being ungrateful for her role.

Following the backlash, the 21-year-old posted another tweet stating, “nvm y’all got me fired,” on her account.

According to many reports, Rae didn’t have an official partnership with the UFC. Her gig at the promotion was just for the sake of social media activation. Also, ESPN described her as a ‘part-time UFC intern for this weekend’ on their official TikTok page.

UFC president Dana White on Addison Rae

The 21-year-old internet star Rae was all over the news for the two tweets she made at UFC 264. However, this was not the only thing that got her a backlash after the event.

A few minutes later, Rae came near former president Trump and said ‘Hi’ by tapping him on the shoulder. This gesture of Rae caught her in the fire again. However, White had an opposite reaction to it.
