The fire had engulfed the residence by the time the firefighters had arrived. Reports have suggested that the fire broke out around 02:00 am. Given that there were no water sources nearby, the Ballville Volunteer Fire Department put up a portable pool to draw the water from.
The first responders seemed to have had trouble calming the fire, as it still had plenty of hotspots in the basement. The roof reportedly collapsed after the crews entered the building and it now looks like the house is unsalvageable. One can only hope and pray that Coleman’s health improves with time.
