The UFC middleweight criticized the former WBA Champion Austin Trout’s victory against the UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez on the latter’s bare-knuckle boxing debut and called out Bare Knuckle FC’s decision to allow the fight. This sparked a fiery social media dispute between the daring fighter and the promotion, as they exchanged barbs and tried to defend their respective positions.

BKFC, in a since-deleted tweet, poked fun at Strickland, to which they received an immediate and fiery response from him.

The 31-year-old wrote, “You sign old fighters who should retire and call it a fight. Your organization is a clown show…. and you know if this conversation was in person you wouldn’t make eye contact with me. Lmao welcome to the internet tough guy…”
