T.J. Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen competed at the UFC Vegas 32 main event. This fight was one of the best UFC contests of the year, with the returning T.J. Dillashaw winning the fight via split decision in the end. Both fighters performed admirably well and gave it their all for the whole 5 rounds.
The fight was so close that till the last moment it was not clear as to who won the fight. Eventually, as the fight ended, and they declared Dillashaw the winner, people from all around the world started congratulating the fighter. However, with Dillashaw’s victory there came a question that stuck in everyone’s mind. What next for Dillashaw?

This fight was Dillashaw’s return to the Octagon after 2 years, and he had clarified that he was going after the UFC title. Even before he defeated Sandhagen, Dillashaw had talked about how he would love to challenge for the title next. Dillashaw had to vacate his title back in March 2019 after he was tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Therefore, the fighter would like to keep his winning momentum and win the UFC title again. However, apart from a title shot, another fight that Dillashaw can have is against Cody Garbrandt. ‘No Love’ has called out Dillashaw following his victory and it would be interesting to see how Dillashaw replies to this challenge.
What next for Cory Sandhagen after his loss at UFC Vegas 32?
Dillashaw clearly believes that he does deserve a title shot after his victory over Sandhagen. However, more speculation rises about what is next for Cory Sandhagen. If Sandhagen would have won the fight, surely he would have had a title shot, however because of this loss Sandhagen’s future seems uncertain.

While it is true that as Sandhagen remains a top-rated opponent, he will get good matchups, who he will face next we do not know. However, a rematch with Dillashaw can be in play as Aljamain Sterling will first have to defend his title against Petr Yan and what happens in that fight, will decide how soon Dillashaw will get a title opportunity.
