Conor McGregor faced Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 264. This fight was the third between the two fighters and people were excited to see how the trilogy ends. The fight lasted just one round as McGregor snapped his leg towards the end of the first round and was not able to continue.
‘The Diamond’ was declared the winner via TKO (doctors stoppage) and won the trilogy. Following that fight, McGregor was medically suspended till 2022 and has been busy in recovery. Since the injury to McGregor, many fans have often talked about whether ‘Notorious’ will be able to make a comeback from this injury.

During a recent interview, UFC lightweight fighter Beneil Dariush also talked about the same. When they asked Dariush about whether he thinks McGregor will be able to recover from this injury. He said, “It really depends on him because what’s your motivation.”
“You know the guy has so much money in the bank and he’s done a lot in the sport, too. He was the first double champ; he was flawless at 145. It’s gonna depend on him. But as far as the recovery goes, of course, he can, he’s 32, I think. He can definitely do that.”

While Dariush clearly believes that McGregor can physically make the recovery. The fighter has doubts about his motivation and that whether ‘Notorious’ is willing to make the recovery.
Does Conor McGregor have the motivation to make a comeback?
Even before McGregor’s fight with Poirier at UFC 264 took place. Fans and critics were skeptical of McGregor’s motivation to win. ‘Notorious’ has achieved almost everything in combat sports and is one of the richest athletes in the world.

Therefore, people believe that as ‘Notorious’ does not need to fight, he lacks the motivation to compete in top-level MMA. However, ‘Notorious’ himself has said that he is very hungry to compete and has even challenged ‘The Diamond’ for a 4th fight.
