UFC Fight Night 184 marks the return of heavyweight legend Alistair Overeem. The Dutch star will take on Russian heavyweight Alexander ‘Drago’ Volkov. Overeem is making a final run of the UFC heavyweight championship, an honor that has eluded him in his decorated career.

The main card of the Fight Night event will be broadcasted on ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. Alexandre Pantoja and Manel Kape will lock horns in the flyweight division. A lightweight rematch between two top contenders, Beneil Dariush and Carlos Diego Ferreira, is set to take place. Both men fought at UFC 179 in 2014 before, with Dariush claiming a decision win.

Cody Stamann and Askar Askar will battle in an important bantamweight clash. Lightweight veteran Michale ‘The Menace’ Johnson will fight fellow legend Clay Guida.

Top bantamweight Cory Sandhagen will take on former UFC lightweight champion Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar in the co-main event. ‘Sandman‘ is looking to get his shot at the 135 lbs title. But he will have a stern test in veteran Edgar against him.

And finally, a blockbuster main event between heavyweights ‘The Demolition Man‘ Overeem and ‘Drago’ Volkov will close the show. Then prelims of the Fight Night card will be broadcasted on ESPN+ too from 5 p.m. ET/ 2 p.m. PT. A light-heavyweight contest between Mike Rodriguez and Danilo Marques takes the featured prelims spot,

Can Alistair Overeem build on his impressive run?

Overeem has won four out of his last five fights. He is currently making one final run at the heavyweight gold. A win over a perennial top contender like Volkov will certainly push him towards those goals.

But Volkov is no pushover. He would like to establish his way and get a shot at the gold himself. Also, the co-main event winner between Sandhagen and Edgar could very well get the next shot at the 135 lbs world championship.
