Lately, Conor McGregor and Tyson Fury, two of the biggest names in combat sports, are spitting fire at each other on the internet. However, the men have had an interaction in the past.
In 2019, the heavyweight legend Fury expressed his interest in making a transition to MMA. Interestingly, ‘The Gypsy King’ was training for the same with the British UFC fighter Darren Till. And in an interview with ESPN, Fury also claimed he received an offer from the UFC star Conor McGregor to train him in MMA.
However, the UFC pay-per-view star denied any such claim. Eventually, in 2020, ‘The Gypsy King’ was preparing for his much-anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder on 22n February. And ‘The Notorious’ was a few days away from his fight with Donald Cerrone in January.

In the lead-up to his fight at UFC 246, McGregor in an interview clarified the claims made by the boxing legend. He said, “I know Tyson’s been talking about it a lot.”
“Me and him spoke and I said that I would train him. I’d never spoken to Tyson in my life, but it’s not a bad little story, so I let it roll. Tyson’s a good man. I like Tyson. He’s a great boxer, a phenomenal boxer, probably the best natural boxer in the heavyweight division at this time. So who knows?” he added.

“I found it funny he said we’d hugged and all this. I’ve never spoken to Tyson in my life. He’s a madman, Tyson. It’ll be cool that he’s going to be there [at UFC 246],”- McGregor concluded. (H/T: BoxingScene)
What is the feud between Conor McGregor and Tyson Fury?
‘The Gypsy King’, apart from being a phenomenal boxer, is a charismatic person. Also, the boxer is quite active on social media and doesn’t shy from talking his mind.
Recently, the British boxer posted a tweet lauding the former UFC champion and undefeated fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov. He also claimed Nurmagomedov retired after being at the top position in the sport.

However, this tweet didn’t sit well with the Irishman who also happens to be the arch-rival of the Russian fighter. ‘The Notorious’ quickly responded by taking a dig at the heavyweight boxing legend.
Ever since then, both the men have been going back and forth with each other on the internet.
