Colby Covington always manages to live up to his name. With a penchant for creating chaos all around, the second-best welterweight always has had a knack for calling someone out on the media platform.

Throwing it back to just more than two years, ‘Chaos’ targeted not a fighter or an athlete but a rapper this time. One of the most renowned rappers in the music industry, 50 Cent, was called out by Covington. This was in response to the rapper slamming the fighter post-UFC 245.

Although deleted, later on, the post was enough to incite contempt and the wrath of the welterweight. Covington took offense at the rapper’s comments and challenged the rapper.

When asked to confirm if Covington broke his jaw, the American fighter stated, “Nah, I didn’t break my jaw… The only person that’s gotten their jaw wired shut is 50 Cent.”

Talking about how the rapper was involved in all of this, he stated, “He came out after the fight. He was talking mad crap on me man. He was just saying all this stuff about me, talking all this smack… put all these Instagram posts out. I wanna do a celebrity boxing match. I’m gonna tie one hand behind my back, and I’m gonna fight 50 Cent.”

He further added, “I’m gonna put a million of my dollars, and I want to fight 50 Cent in a celebrity boxing match, and I’m gonna donate all my money to the troops because I love the troops so much. They protect our freedoms. They put it all on the line for America, and you know I just wanna fight 50 Cent.”

Colby Covington: Chaos in Rap Town

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Covington called out 50 Cent, but it could seem unusual for any other individual. Both of them are not even remotely related in terms of profession. Their linkage on the media platform arising from entertainment perhaps started it all.

Colby Covington calls out anyone who differs from his opinion, and this need not be anyone from the fight game alone. He has also called out NBA legend LeBron James for a fight over a difference in opinion.

Therefore, it shouldn’t be out of the blue for the UFC star to be calling out non-fighters.

Covington’s current stance in the UFC

Despite a dominant win over former teammate turned rival Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272, the path for the welterweight seems blurry. UFC President Dana White stated that he also is unsure of what to do next for Colby Covington.

He could have the trilogy fight against Kamaru Usman in the near future, for all we know. For now, the 34-year-old is coming off a great win over a well-marketed fight.
