Who is Payton Talbott’s coach?

Payton Talbott was born and raised in a small town, where he developed a passion for sports from a young age. Growing up in a tight-knit family, he learned the values of hard work and dedication early on. Tallboot excelled in athletics throughout his school years, showing a natural talent for both football and track. His competitive spirit drove him to pursue a career in sports, eventually gaining recognition for his skills.

Talbott owes much of his success to his coaching team, led by a highly skilled and dedicated mentor Rick Collup at the Reno Academy of Combat. His coach is renowned for his expertise in both striking and grappling techniques. Rollup’s approach to training is holistic, focusing not only on the fighter’s physical abilities but also on mental toughness and strategic thinking inside the Octagon. Having worked with Talbott from the early stages of his MMA career, the coach has helped the fighter refine his style, blending power and precision with a sharp fight IQ.

By the way, Talbott also has a bachelor’s in Psychology. “I have a bachelor’s in it [psychology]… I did general but towards the later years I got super into the neuroscience courses because they were more interesting to me. But I started out wanting to do clinical…I got into that [MMA] when I was a senior in high school,” he once said on ‘The MMA Hour.’

He started MMA out of sheer boredom. Talbott owes his MMA introduction to Conor McGregor’s highlight reels. The undefeated bantamweight saw his highlights at a sushi restaurant and decided to try a hand. After about seven to eight months, his coach asked him to make an amateur debut. Only after going 2-0 as a pro did he take it up as a serious career over psychology.
