Gabriel Bonfim is all set to clash against Ange Loosa at UFC Fight Night: Namajunas vs. Cortez on July 13th in Denver Colorado. ‘Marretinha’ is riding a one-fight loss streak under the promotion. His last clash against Nicolas Dalby handed him his first defeat of his career. However, Bonfim is looking to establish himself in the realm of the UFC alongside his brother Ismael Bonfim and his upcoming clash might prove to be the big break for him.

Fighting out of Brasilia, Federal District, Brazil, Gabriel Bonfim is immensely proud of his Brazilian heritage. ‘Marretinha’ started his career very early. He started training in MMA just because of the fact that his brothers were training in it. Before he was inducted into the UFC roster, Bonfim was a Brazilian amateur/professional boxing champion and LFA welterweight champion.

He has been in the professional MMA zone since his debut in 2014 against Kleuve Santos on Açaí do Japa Fight 2. ‘Marretinha’ clinched the victory in the second round by submitting his opponent. Well, before he started his journey in the dark alleyways of UFC, Gabriel Bonfim was teaching boxing to his clients back in Brazil.

Well, ‘Marretinha’ is not the only member of the Bonfim family who has been in the fight business. His brother Ismael Bonfim has been competing in the UFC as well. That’s right, there is a third, older Bonfirm brother – Odair – who was also a fighter and set the path for Ismael and Bonfim to follow. “My family’s feeling when I wanted to be a fighter was very respectful because being a fighter was in my blood,” said Gabriel to UFC before the sibling pair debuted at UFC 283,  “They were very emotional about the UFC contract because it wasn’t just my dream, but the dream of my whole family.”

“We have a very good family; they all support us a lot. My mother, my older brother, and my sisters did everything to help us realize our dream, so they were just as happy when this happened, maybe even happier than us,” Ismael added.
