UFC Fight Island 7 is the world MMA leader’s return to Abu Dhabi to kick-start 2021 with a bang. The first card of the New Year is headlined by elite featherweights Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar for divisional contention. Moreover, the bout is already being circled as a Fight of the Year candidate given the styles that both fighters bring.

The fight card is primed for network television as it will air on ABC on January 16, 2021. The announcement that the card will be on ABC came out through a release by ESPN on Monday, January 4, 2021.

The main card will be brought to fans on ABC for the first time at 3 pm ET.  It will also stream on ESPN+. Furthermore, the prelims, billed as the ESPN+ prelims, will start at 12 pm ET. The UFC hasn’t been on network television since the Fox era that expired in late December 2018.

The fights on Fight Island 7 have plenty to offer other than just a stellar main event. The co-main event for the card sees veterans Carlos Condit and Matt Brown finally square off. The two have been in talks to scrap for several years, and it’s finally coming to fruition.

The rest of the main card has other compelling bouts as well, including the highly anticipated return of Santiago Ponzinibbio. The Argentinian fighter faces Li Jingliang, who’s a dangerous fight of Ponzinibbio to make a comeback to. Moreover, 2020 KO of the Year winner Joaquin Buckley also makes his return to the cage against Alessio Di Chirico.
