Sean O’Malley was all set to face Louis Smolka at the UFC 264 event. However, with less than two weeks remaining before the event, Louis Smolka had to withdraw from the fight. On Tuesday Ariel Helwani had reported that Smolka had to withdraw from the event, which meant the UFC had to find an opponent for ‘Sugar’ on short notice.

Ever since the news of Smolka’s withdrawal came out, many fighters expressed their desire of facing O’Malley at the UFC 264 main card opener. However, it seems like ‘Sugar’ is looking for a particular fighter to face at UFC 264 and that is Ricky Simon.

Sean O’Malley recently took to Instagram to post a video of himself saying, “Where you at Simon.” This has led many to believe that ‘Sugar’ is calling out Ricky Simon as the replacement fighter for UFC 264.

UFC commentator and UFC analyst Jon Anik also took to Twitter to share news of the same. He wrote, “Sean O’Malley just posted a video on TikTok/Instagram in which he seemingly selects Ricky Simon as his (possible) replacement opponent at UFC 264 in 10 days. If that happens, good on all parties. Simon is an offensive force. What a matchup. All in.”

While it is still unknown whether ‘Sugar’ really called out Simon for the UFC 264 or not. One thing is sure that the UFC is not removing O’Malley from the card and is looking for a suitable opponent for him.

Possible Opponents for Sean O’Malley at UFC 264

Till now there has been no official announcement as to who would be O’Malley’s opponent at UFC 264. However, there are a few fighters that seem to be the frontrunners of facing ‘Sugar.’
