Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov share a rivalry that will go down as one for the ages. The two lightweight stars had some intense and heated bad blood between them. The rivalry has turned ugly occasionally through actions and words from the fighters and their team members.

Now fans are witnessing some new instances of it, thanks to Conor McGregor’s new Netflix documentary, ‘McGregor Forever.’ The limited series has some never before seen footage, including McGregor’s live reaction to Nurmagomedov announcing his retirement.

When the pair fought each other in 2018 at UFC 229, Nurmagomedov came out on top. After a largely one-sided fight, ‘The Eagle’ submitted ‘The Notorious’ in the fourth round of their fight. However, the rivalry did not end there at all.

In 2020, Nurmagomedov suffered a personal setback as he lost his father. Months after the tragedy, the Dagestani fought Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 and won via submission in the second round. Following the win, he announced his retirement and walked away for good.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov would trade shots at each other on social media. The rivalry was so prominent that you could not mention one fighter without mentioning the other. Nevertheless, a rematch remained elusive despite McGregor constantly clamoring for it.

In ‘McGregor Forever’ we see the Irishman watching live as Nurmagomedov announced his retirement at UFC 254. McGregor’s reaction was a mix of surprise and disappointment, to say the least.
