Alexander Volkanovski is the featherweight champion in the UFC. He is one of the best featherweight fighters on the roster. ‘The Great’ made his professional fighting debut in 2012 and has an amazing record of 22-1 under his name.

Furthermore, ‘The Great’ is a skilled finisher with 11 wins via knockout in his resume. He’s an undefeated fighter in the UFC, but the Australian fighter has faced one loss in his professional career.

‘The Great’ made his professional MMA debut in 2012 with a stunning win over Gerhard Voigt at Revolutions promotions. Volkanovski defeated Regan Wilson in his second professional fight. This was his first knockout victory in his fighting career.

After winning his first two fights in a row, Volkanovski won his third professional fight via knockout in 2013. However, the Australian fighter faced a devastating loss when he was on an amazing three-fight win streak.

‘The Great’ squared off against Corey Nelson in 2013 at the Australian Fighting Championship. Nelson was 12-4 at that time, while Volkanovski had only three-fight experiences.

Nelson knocked out ‘The Great’ via a strong uppercut just 13 seconds into the third round. This was the only time Volkanovski didn’t get his hand raised at the end of the fight. However, he has been undefeated since his only loss and also earned himself the featherweight gold in the UFC.

‘The Great’ was on an amazing ten-fight win streak when he made his stunning UFC debut with a win over Yusuke Kasuya. The Australian fighter quickly laddered up the ranks by defeating featherweight fighters one after the other .

The 22-1) record holder was on an impressive seventeen-fight win streak when he earned his first title shot against Max Holloway. ‘The Great’ won the fight via decision at UFC 245 and earned his first-ever UFC gold. He also successfully defended his gold title against Holloway at UFC 251 in a rematch.

Volkanovski is now set to defend his featherweight gold for the second time against Brian Ortega at UFC 266. The fight has generated much hype as both fighters have taken a dig at each other. This fight is going to garner a lot of attention from the fans.
