Calvin Kattar has made a name for himself as one of the most dangerous featherweights in the UFC. With crisp boxing, relentless pressure, and an iron will, he’s carved his way through some of the toughest fighters in the division. Remember his vicious knockout of Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249? With a 57% KO/TKO percentage, ‘The Boston Finisher’ has lived up to his nickname at every opportunity inside the Octagon.

From training with the Diaz brothers when he was just a 19-year-old rookie to fighting his way through New England regional circuits, Kattar has always chased excellence. But while fans know plenty about his in-cage battles, one question often arises—who stands beside him outside the cage? Is Calvin Kattar married, or does he have a girlfriend?

What is Calvin Kattar’s relationship status?

When it comes to his personal life, Calvin Kattar is as elusive as he is in the Octagon. There’s no public record of a wife or girlfriend, and he rarely shares details about his relationships. Whether he’s single or simply keeping his love life away from the spotlight remains a mystery.

That said, there was one moment that sparked curiosity. Kattar once shared a photo of Colombian model and entrepreneur Valeria Orsini on Instagram. His caption? A playful proposal—he jokingly asked her to marry him in the future.

Whether it was a serious attempt or just lighthearted banter, fans were quick to react. But beyond that, ‘The Boston Finisher’ keeps his romantic life under wraps, and away from the spotlight that comes with being a UFC star.

But while some fighters build their careers on raw talent, Calvin Kattar’s is a tale of grit and perseverance. Before he stepped into the Octagon, Kattar’s combat sports journey started on wrestling mats at Methuen High School, Massachusetts. And throughout it all, it’s his family that has been the foundation of his incredible journey.

Calvin Kattar’s family and background

Born and raised in Methuen, Massachusetts, Calvin Kattar comes from a hardworking family. His father, Jamie Kattar, runs an irrigation business, while his uncle Kevin owns the Merrimack Valley Golf Club. The Kattars are deeply rooted in the local community, and known for their strong work ethic and business acumen.

He also has two brothers and a sister that he often shares messages for on his social media accounts. In fact, his passion for MMA ignited when he watched his sister’s best friend compete in a local fight. From that moment, he was hooked. He sought out regional promoter Dave George, determined to get on a fight card. But before he could test himself in a real cage fight, he had to get past his father.

According to an interview with Forbes, his father revealed, “We were landscaping a yard of a house when he dropped the news. I told him if you can tap out your Dad, you can fight professionally. So all of a sudden, we’re scrapping in the front yard. A couple minutes later, the homeowner comes out and Calvin has me in a choke hold.”

After putting in work in the regional circuits, Calvin Kattar made his UFC debut in 2017 and defeated Andre Fili by unanimous decision. And over the years, he’s battled through injuries, setbacks, and doubts, yet he remains one of the UFC’s most respected featherweights.

Now, at UFC Fight Night 251/UFC Vegas 102, he’ll be taking on Youssef Zalal. Currently, on a 3-fight skid, one of which was a knee injury against Arnold Allen in 2022, this is Calvin Kattar’s chance to bounce back. Will he be able to put in a vintage performance this time around? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
