Charles Oliveira is all set to take on Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300 and there has been a lot of talk around the fight. Oliveira is, of course, a Brazilian sweetheart to many people. Tsarukyan, on the other hand, is comparatively newer to the promotion and has quickly made his way up.

The lightweight division is a very exciting place right now given the events surrounding the championship. Dustin Poirier recently achieved one more knockout victory to add to his already splendid resume. Now, the question is, with that being said, where does ‘Do Bronx’ land?

Charles Oliveira has had some trouble in recent history. He was all set to take on UFC lightweight champ, Islam Makhachev at UFC 294 but unfortunately, the whole fight fell apart. ‘Do Bronx’ suffered a grievous injury. A cut right over his eye.

This stopped him dead in his tracks and once the injury, suffered during training, was examined, the result was quick and clear. Oliveira had to drop out of his fight and instead, the then UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski filled in for him.

Now, Oliveira’s path is a bit extended. Charles Oliveira is being favored by many over Arman Tsarukyan at his UFC 300 bout. Regardless, what happens once that fight is over is the big question. In truth, it all depends on whether or not ‘Do Bronx’ wins or loses.

Who will Charles Oliveira fight at UFC 300?

Charles Oliveira could win up against Arman Tsarukyan. However, would this secure his championship bout? That may not be possible since Islam Makhachev has shown interest in fighting Dustin Poirier in the long run. However, once that fight is done with, perhaps ‘Do Bronx’ could be next in line to fight whoever holds the belt then.

But what happens if the Brazilian loses to Tsarukyan? This would end up affecting his ratings and then he may have to fight Justin Gaethje instead who is the current BMF champion. A fight with Mateusz Gamrot would also be possible but Gamrot fought very recently and that’s enough reason to count him out.

Clearly, the future for Charles Oliveira is not set in stone yet and a title shot is still very much possible for him. Will he end up regaining his title soon? Most likely not, but the wait will definitely be worth it.
