Hasbulla Magomedov caused a stir in the MMA world when he showed his support for a fellow Dagestani fighter, Islam Makhachev, ahead of his battle against Dan Hooker at the highly anticipated UFC 267. The internet sensation is diagnosed with a condition called dwarfism, which causes him to appear as though he is still a toddler. He is, in fact, an adult. Hasbulla got popular after a video of him picking a fight with Abdu Rozik went viral (another person who was diagnosed with dwarfism).

The Russian online sensation is an avid MMA enthusiast. He frequently imitates MMA legend, and a fellow Dagestani native, Khabib Nurmagomedov in his videos. But is he anyway related to ‘The Eagle’? If not, what is his bond with the former UFC lightweight champion, and how close is he to Islam Makhachev? Without further ado, let’s find out the answer to all these questions.

Is Hasbulla related to Khabib Nurmagomedov?

The answer to this question is no. Hasbulla Magomedov isn’t biologically related to Khabib Nurmagomedov or Islam Makhachev. But he comes from the same place in Russia as both of the UFC fighters. Islam Makhachev and Khabib have been spotted with Hasbulla on many social media posts. It appears that they share a good friendship. Hasbulla also often refers to himself as a UFC fighter and fans fondly call himself “mini Khabib.”

Now that Nurmagomedov has retired from the sport, Hasbulla and he still spend a lot of time together. In fact, Hasbulla is the only man in the world who can call ‘The Eagle’ a cheater and get away with it. Back in 2022, the duo played a football match against one another as a part of Islam Makhachev’s training camp. After the match, Hasbulla asked the Dagestani fighter, “You paid the referee? How much you pay him?” Taking the accusation as a joke made by his friend, Khabib Nurmagomedov replied, “Don’t judge people by yourself. If you walk in with Rolexes and buy people, we are not like that.” Well, it looks like the duo really share a good bond. But what about Islam Makhachev?

The UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev claims to have known the internet star for over 10 years. During an interview with BT Sports, he said, “He’s my neighbor. He was really very close with me. I know him like, more than 10 years.” He further added that Hasbulla loves MMA and is always excited to be a part of his camp as his number one supporter. “Yeah, he loves MMA. He loves, you know. Now, it’s his first time travel to, from Russia (to) somewhere. I talked with him yesterday. He said he very happy.” Such is his loyalty towards the Dagestani camp, that Hasbulla even got into a beef with none other than Conor McGregor. But what exactly happened between the two?

When Hasbulla called out the Irishman

It all started in 2022 when Conor McGregor took to X to write some unpleasant words for Hasbulla. He tweeted, “I’d love to boot that little g Hasbulla over a goal post. How much to get him on the volley? Little smelly inb**d.” Many expected that it would bring out a sharp reaction from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s good friend, however, Hasbulla decided not to tweet back. Why? Well, according to Hasbulla, the Irishman ended up promoting him instead of putting him down.

Speaking to Adam Zubayraev, Hasbulla claimed that he is not afraid of ‘The Notorious,’ and would even go one-on-one against the fighter if required. But, would he stand a chance? Well, according to the Dagestani, he might. Because as per Hasbulla, McGregor is no longer a fighter. “Well, Conor [McGregor] loves to hype. He thought he would hype himself up, but he promoted me instead. If we crossed paths, I would kick him in the legs… I’m a man. Why should I run from him? He’s not an athlete anymore. He uses [d**gs] there.”

Well, it looks like the Irishman is soon becoming the most hated man in Dagestan. Not just fighters, but even influencers are been irked by his attitude. But for now, all Hasbulla would have in his mind is to fully support Umar Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev as they fight at UFC 311. What do you think? Will the Dagestani camp find 100% success at the event? Let us know in the comments.
