UFC fighters are living proof when it comes to describing toughness and resilience. Fighting formidable opponents regularly can take a toll on a fighter’s mental and physical well-being, so the support of family members keeps them coherent inside and outside the octagon. Jean Silva, the latest popular prospect in the featherweight division, is no exception. His career is on the rise right now and he attributes much of his success to his family, especially to his wife Carol, who has been a strong partner and a pillar to his accomplishments.

Silva’s climb has been nothing short of a breakthrough story. He burst onto the scene with a win over Kevin Vallejos at DWCS 6.1, securing a UFC contract that flipped his career upside down. Since then, the Brazilian has racked up five straight victories and now stares down his toughest challenge yet: a clash with the electrifying Mexican-Brazilian phenom Diego Lopes at UFC Noche 3. But fight week buzz hasn’t just been about the matchup. Away from the octagon, Silva has found himself in the headlines for more personal reasons—his marriage, and even wild rumors about Dana White standing as his best man.

Suddenly, Silva isn’t just a contender to watch inside the cage; he’s become the talk of the town outside of it. So what’s the real story behind the noise? Let’s dive in.

All about Carolina de Castro, Jean Silva’s wife

Jean Silva forged his path to the UFC through pain. As a child, he watched his mother suffer assault and later witnessed his brother’s tragic death by gunfire. The trauma nearly consumed him and pushed him to the brink of ending his own life. MMA gave Silva a way out, and his longtime partner, Caroline de Castro, stood by him, helping him rebuild piece by piece.

Whispers about their relationship status have circulated for years. While Silva has never publicly called Carol his girlfriend, their social media footprint paints the picture of a couple long since married. What is clear is Silva’s gratitude—he never shies away from crediting her as a cornerstone in his journey, even if much of their private story remains behind closed doors.

Carol, by contrast, embraces simplicity. A woman of deep faith, she attributes every success she and Silva share to God’s grace. Her life revolves around family, often spending evenings at dinner gatherings with her cousins. But she isn’t just a spectator in Silva’s career. With her background in Muay Thai, Carol has laced up the pads to help sharpen her husband’s striking before big fights. And when she isn’t in the gym, she seeks her own thrills—occasionally throwing herself out of planes for the rush of skydiving.

Jean Silva reveals wedding plans featuring Dana White & UFC PI

Dana White doesn’t always earn the label of a perfect boss, but few match him when he looks after his fighters on a personal level. The UFC president has now stepped in to turn Jean Silva’s wedding dream into reality. Silva and his fiancée delayed tying the knot for months. They wanted to wait until his career and earnings grew enough to bring in Brazilian superstar Belo—a household name back home and an expensive booking for any private event.

Silva says White removed that burden by agreeing to bankroll not only Belo’s appearance but also the entire wedding. Silva also claims the UFC boss will stand as his best man. The 28-year-old featherweight, fresh off a highlight-reel knockout over Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314, first floated the idea in his post-fight interview. He asked White to take part in the ceremony and even fund it. Silva now insists White agreed.

Dana is the Godfather who will sponsor our wedding, he is going to bring the singer, Belo, that’s my wife’s favorite singer to sing,” Silva told Fight Week Focus. “We’re not just going to have the wedding in Vegas just because it’s Vegas, there’s history for us in Vegas. There was Contender Series, there was my first fight, that’s where I’m going to become world champion.

“I want to get married at the UFC PI. We’re gonna get married there, it’s gonna be a great thing… I can envision my wife coming into the wedding wearing my belt,” Silva continued.
