Who is the ex-husband of Mackenzie Dern?

Prior to her fight against Angela Hill at UFC Vegas 73, MacKenzie Dern was involved in a legal battle against her ex-husband, Wesley Santos. The couple got engaged in 2019 and the 30-year-old UFC fighter took a break from fighting that year and welcomed their daughter Moa in June 2019. Santos is a professional surfer and everything seemed to be going great for the couple until they separated in 2022.

Mackenzie Dern and Wesley Santos reportedly had a very turbulent relationship. Moreover, both attempted to get things in order but failed to sustain it. The couple even traded multiple allegations against each other regarding improper behavior towards each other, landing them in a serious court battle.

Moreover, certain footage emerged of Santos engaged in misconduct before legal authorities came in to intervene. There were also some court documents made available to the public as well that ‘MMA Fighting‘ reported about. The documents revealed that Santos misbehaved with Dern’s two pet dogs.

Allegedly, he even denied the UFC star access to finances from a bank in Brazil. Furthermore, Santos was also accused of misusing Dern’s credit card as well. Meanwhile, the professional surfer also leveled his share of allegations against the 30-year-old fighter, too.

Court documents revealed Dern’s broken relationship with Wesley Santos

Wesley Santos alleged that Mackenzie Dern had mistreated their daughter, Moa. However, the UFC star denied any such allegations. As per the documents, none of the two found support in terms of their allegations. Instead, the court ruled a judgment in terms of the custody of their child.

The court gave Dern and Santos joint custody of their daughter. Moreover, they deemed the UFC fighter the primary earner of the two. This led the court to ask Dern to pay her ex-husband’s court fees, amounting to $10,000, and a monthly alimony of around $4,000.

Despite these setbacks, Mackenzie Dern has continued to be a mainstay of the UFC’s strawweight division. She has accumulated eight wins in her UFC career and is looking to make a statement at UFC 298 after her brutal knockout loss against Jessica Andrade at UFC 295. We will have to wait and see if another win can set her up for a title fight in the future.
