Who Is Petr Yan’s Wife Julia Yan?

Everyone in the UFC and MMA community is aware of Petr Yan. His fighting skills and power are incredible. The 135 pounds Russian fighter’s switch stance and years of boxing experience set his game apart from all the other fighters in the bantamweight division.

He transitioned from a boxer to a full-fledged professional mixed martial artist. Yan’s fight movements are economical and he wastes no movement. With a praise-worthy record of 15 wins and 2 losses, he is one of the most deadly fighters to face in the octagon.

There is so much to speak about Yan’s fight style, records, and professional achievements. But, not much is known about his personal life.

Petr Yan is married to Julia Yan, and the couple has two children. Their first son, Daniil, was born in 2016, and their second son, Konstantin was born in 2020. They prefer to keep their family life as low-key as possible. Hence, Julia likes to keep her social media accounts private. However, Yan regularly posts professional and family pictures on Instagram to keep his fans updated.

Yan had shared an Instagram post with Julia, where both were quite young. So, it seems that the couple met at a very young age and have been together ever since.

UFC 267: Petr Yan vs Cory Sandhagen

On the professional front, Yan has been the former bantamweight champion. Unfortunately, because of his disqualification during the UFC 259 fight, he lost his title defense against Aljamain Sterling. A rematch is not going to take place anytime soon because of Sterling’s surgery. But Yan still gets an opportunity to fight for the interim title and become the number one contender in the division. 

At UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi, Yan will face Sandhagen for the interim title. It might be a brutally close fight because both Yan and Sandhagen are highly skilled fighters. They have excellent offensive and defensive tools. Given this one chance to prove themselves, both will not leave the octagon without giving their absolute best.

Petr Yan on his upcoming fight

While the interim fight will be a good opportunity for Yan to make up for his previous error, he is a little disappointed. He said, “To be honest, I am not satisfied that it will be the fight for the interim champion’s title, but this is the UFC policy and I’m not going deep into it. I am glad that I’ll be able to appear [in the octagon] and do what I can do because many people are waiting for my bout.”

Speaking about his opponent, Yan said, “Sandhagen is a decent opponent for the title fight, because he is a very dangerous and a tough competitor and showed an outstanding fight against Dillashaw.

With one of the best matchups, the fight for the bantamweight interim title on October 30. It will be one bout that the audience will want to watch. If Yan wins this fight, a unification bout with Sterling will be inevitable.
