After this, the organization witnessed many Champions from different countries. Cain Velasquez from Mexico was one of the toughest fighters and a great champion.

He won his first title from Brock Lesnar and lost it in his next match to Junior Dos Santos. He then went on to become the champion again and successfully defended his title twice.

At that time, Velasquez was one of the scariest fighters in the division. He only lost 3 times over the course of his entire career and is one of the best Heavyweights.

However, Couture was never a true Heavyweight. Most of the time he was the smaller fighter and had to deal with a massive size discrepancy. Somehow someway ‘The Natural’ was able to pull off victories over his larger opponents.

Some people believe he was one of the greatest fighters of all time. Not because of his record, but because of his fearlessness in the Octagon.

Stipe Miocic is already an apex fighter

Nobody has been more consistent than the current Heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic. Miocic is at the top of the food chain in the scariest division in the promotion.

He won the Heavyweight gold by beating Fabricio Werdum. Then he defended the title consecutively 3 times, which is more than anyone in history.
