How did Alexander and Emma Volkanovski meet?

While details about how Alexander and Emma met are scarce, a glimpse into their relationship can be seen in the posts shared by ‘The Great’ on Instagram. In October 2020, Volkanovksi took to social media to share an update regarding their anniversary, with a post showcasing their enduring love since their high school years.

He captioned the post, “Happy Anniversary to this stunner!! 8 years of marriage, 15 years together…high school sweethearts. Here’s to many more years together.”

The post reflected their enduring love and commitment to each other, marking eight years of marriage and 15 years together, highlighting the bond they have shared for over a decade!  And Volkanvoski’s post shed more light on the dynamics between the pair that have allowed them to remain together through the trials and tribulations that life presents. 

All about the UFC champ’s kids with wife Emma

The couple shares three daughters: Ariana, who is 7 years old, Airlie, who is 5, and their youngest daughter, Reign, born in February 2023. Alongside their older daughters, Ariana and Airlie, they now form a loving family of five.

Volkanovski had engaged his fans online in the joy of their new arrival by organizing a gender reveal game on Instagram, which revealed they were expecting another daughter! 

The announcement of their third daughter drew attention from fans and fellow UFC fighters, highlighting the affection many have for the Volkanovski family. And Volk also shared a picture of himself with his daughter, captioned, “Reign Volkanovski. Baby girl number 3…Long may she reign…Mummy absolutely smashed it today…love you baby.”

Alexander Volkanovski’s parents

Volkanovski comes from a mixed heritage, with his father, Tony Volkanovski, being Macedonian but was born in Yugoslavia. And his mother, Mary Volkanovski is of Greek descent. Inspired by Alexander the Great, the legendary conqueror who was also born in Macedonia, Volkanovski adopted “The Great” as his fight moniker. His choice of nickname reflects his pride in his heritage and the moniker is fitting as Volkanovski has achieved ‘greatness’ in his MMA career.

Despite the rigors that come with living a professional fighter’s life,  Volkanovski maintains a strong bond with his parents, often displaying a mischievous side, as seen in his Instagram posts with them! According to reports online, he also has an older brother who is involved in fighting.

Before his MMA career, Volkanovski had pursued wrestling and rugby, playing semi-professionally for the Warilla Gorillas. At 23, he transitioned to professional MMA, where he found remarkable success with a record that speaks volumes about his place in the topmost echelon of MMA fighters.
