Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have been acting as coaches against each other in The Ultimate Fighter season 31. Cody Gibson from Team Chandler was up against Mando Gutierrez from Team McGregor in the second episode of TUF 31. Nevertheless, the world still lies in wait to watch the ‘Mystic Mac’ fight Chandler inside the cage.

Prior to the fight, ‘The Notorious’ was caught motivating his fighters. The former UFC double champion claimed that although too many things would go around in one’s head, they just had to keep it simple. He wanted the fighters to claim the Octagon and make it their own. He subtly opened up and revealed his mindset before his return to the Octagon, while motivating his students.

Conor McGregor motivates his fighters at TUF 31

Recently, a clip from the second episode of TUF 31 was shared on Twitter by ESPN MMA. The caption read, “Conor’s mindset before entering the Octagon #TUF31” The video showed the Irish fighter talking to his fighters, trying to motivate them for their respective fights. 

In the process of motivating them, McGregor also let out a piece of his own mindset that he has before stepping inside the cage. He said that there would be many things going on inside the fighter’s head. But the same thing was true for the opponent, as well. He wanted Team McGregor to own the Octagon from the very beginning.

McGregor said, “So many different things go through your head, but just keep it simple. Just keep it, let it be. Whatever it is, it is. Let it be. It’s going on in the exact same corner across the way. So I’m saying, ‘whose Octagon is it? Yours or the other f**king one guy?’ I just saw that one guy. It’s not. It’s your f**king Octagon. Let it be known from the bell. Verbalize from the go.”

Previously, in an interview with Brendan Schaub, ‘Iron’ revealed the difference between his teaching methods and that of McGregor’s. He claimed that McGregor talked a lot and gave a lot of advice.

Chandler revealed that watching McGregor during the practices or in some of the video clips that were leaked, the former UFC double champion seemingly talked too much. He further added that McGregor looked straight at the game and was not scared of providing his opinion.
