‘No Love’ had been absent from combat for over a year before he took down Trevin Jones at UFC 285. Now, his next battle will take him to the cage against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300. But perhaps, the biggest fight he had to endure was the one fought outside of the cage.

Garbrandt’s ex-wife, Danny Pimasanguan is a model and a social media influencer who has previously been linked with the modeling agency called “Wet Republic Ultra Pool”. The two got married in 2017 after meeting at Pinnacle FC. Now, years later, their divorce has come through.

“Let me be honest with you, with that fight,” Garbrandt said about his UFC 269 loss, “I felt good in the sense of the weight cut went good, but outside of that, my life was in shambles. It wasn’t good. I wasn’t in a good place. I wasn’t happy. I went through the motions.” Kai Kara France may have defeated Garbrandt but it was truly his mental state that ate at him.

Many suspected his weight-cut for the fight was what bothered him but according to him, it was something else entirely. “I ended up getting divorced. Before my fight, selling my house the week of my fight. I have a son who was three years old, four years old at the time. I come from a split family, I didn’t want that, but I had to make some life changes.” A lengthy and painful divorce later, he’s on track to fight again. Is he feeling any better now?
