The rise of UFC and mixed martial arts from the dark ages to become one of the major sports in the world is commendable. Combat sports have found their new way into the lives of the general population and have become a global phenomenon.
UFC stars like Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and more have become household names, that even top personalities of other sports can’t help but draw comparisons with.

Recently, retired British Racer and important F1 personality, David Coulthard, took aim at the budding rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, by comparing it with UFC.

The era of heated rivalries and massive media campaigns on social media has provided a new source of entertainment. No longer do the rivalries remain just within the realm of a sport, they sometimes even involve outside factors as well. UFC has seen its fair share of such moments, and it looks like this nature of long-staying feuds has been embraced by F1 as well.

According to a report by Express, Coulthard believes, this budding rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen is turning F1 into UFC, he said,”
“You look at UFC – as far as I know, there’s only two rules, and it’s about below the belt and about the eyes, everything else goes. This now feels like F1 has been redefined as F1 UFC, pretty much anything is going, and then the stewards are stepping in. The standout for me is when Red Bull was given the option to give up what was the lead of the Grand Prix to then take the restart in third. I’ve never heard anything like that before – I need that explaining to me.”
