Glover Teixeira created history by winning the light heavyweight title at the age of 42. After such a historic win, it is essential that he also defends his well-earned title.

There are many great fighters in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. As a part of such a hugely competitive sport, every fighter’s goal is to win their division’s title. Not getting such an opportunity can be a very frustrating experience.

‘Rocket’ wrote, “Ask him why is he ducking to fight for the #1 Contender when he got offered the fight two days ago? Samurai my a** and I am the one who is declining the fight? I don’t think so. The time will come when I cut that ugly Czech flag off his head.”

He further wrote, “If he’s getting the title shot why did the UFC offer me two days ago to fight him for a #1 contender fight?”

Rakic’s annoyance at how things panned out is understandable. However, he may have to wait a little longer for the title shot as well as a fight with Jiri Prochazka. As ‘Denisa’ was the backup fighter for the Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira bout at UFC 267, he feels that he deserved a title shot.

Also, the champion’s call-out to Prochazka could be the clincher.

On The MMA Hour, Prochazka shot back at Rakic, saying, “He’s showing he is not a warrior. He is just trash.”
